The Yupiteru MVT-9000 MkII has a frequency coverage of 0.531 - 2039 MHz and is equipped with all major modes. Whatever your scanning speciality the MVT-9000 Mk II will have something to offer. Airband enthusiasts can tune into the civil and military bands. Alternatively the short wavebands can be utilised for listening to long distance transmissions. Other possibilities include tuning into marine traffic or emergency services. If tired of your normal scanning activities you may wish to check out some FM broadcast radio stations.

Searching of either the whole spectrum, or of selected bands, occurs at 30 steps per second. Special search features include search pass, which allows you to assign 500 frequencies such that they will be ignored in future searches. There is also an auto write function, which enables you to leave the scanner unattended whilst it automatically stores up to 50 channels in a specified bank. The Yupiteru MVT-9000 MKII has 20 banks for organising your memory channels. Each bank can hold 50 channels, which works out at a total of 1000 memories. This receiver also has 10 priority channels. Alphanumerical characters are available for labelling of both channels and banks for easy future recognition.

The scan rate for the Yupiteru MVT-9000 MKII is 30 channels per second. Advanced features include the band scope, which can be used to monitor the activity of 64 channels around the one that is tuned in. When one of these channels becomes active the marker function can be used to switch to that channel. Another feature of the Yupiteru MVT-7300 is the duplex receiving capability. Some radio conversations operate on two different frequencies (known as split frequency operation). The duplex receiving feature enables easy switching between these frequencies such that both sides of the conversation can be heard.

Other features that deserve a mention are the key lock (which allows a key to be locked in one of seven different ways), an internal ferrite antenna for enhance MW reception, a descrambler, and the availability of 18 different frequency steps.

Other features include:
Signal strength display - attenuator - dot matrix display - s-meter - manual channel access - 10 day memory backup - channel lockout - delay key - 10x speed tune function.
